Hefty Riakpore brutally demolished Turchi in the IBF eliminator: video

Wembley Arena, London, UK. In the main event of the evening, local cruiserweight contender (up to 90.7 kg) Richard Riakpore (15-0, 11 KOs) knocked out Italian Fabio Turchi (20-2, 14 KOs).

It was an IBF eliminator.

Left-hander Turchi confidently started the fight: he took the center of the ring and began to drive the big man. Riakpore leaned on the jab, but often did not throw punches, but simply pushed the opponent away. The referee did not notice fouls.

In the 2nd round, the favorite’s first accented attack ended in a knockdown – a left hook to the body went through. Turchi fell to the canvas, got to his feet not without problems. The referee was ready to continue the fight, but the coach ran out of the corner of the guest – this is a capitulation.

The duel turned out to be more watchable than expected, abounded in bright exchanges. The owner of the ring tried to control the pace of the fight, the guest mostly countered. By the equator, Congo was building up an advantage, but Formella managed a good comeback.

The fight went all the way. Judges score: 97-93, 97-94 and 98-92.
