Last week, social media star, millionaire content maker, and at the same time professional boxer Jake Paul made a loud accusation against British promoter Eddie Hearn, voicing suspicion of corruption and bribery of American judge Glenn Feldman.
As “irrefutable evidence,” Paul recalled that Feldman controversially adjudicated the Taylor-Serrano and Usyk-Joshua 2 fights organized by Hearn’s Matchroom, setting up a winning score for the British functionary’s fighters.
Hearn is not going to put up with unfounded accusations against him and intend to sue Jake for a huge amount.
“Both legally and ethically, there is a clear line that separates opinion from defamatory lies,” Hearn’s lawyer Frank Salzano states in an interview.
TMZ. “Jake Paul knows this and he intentionally crossed that line when he wrongly accused Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn of fight fraud.”
“Nevertheless, he was still given the opportunity to retract his slanderous statements, but he did not do this,” the lawyer continued. “He will now face the legal consequences of his actions as Matchroom and Mr. Hearn seek damages well in excess of $100 million, given the value and goodwill of Matchroom’s business, and the malicious nature of Mr. Paul’s comments.”
Meanwhile, the legend wants Jake Paul to fight UFC President Dana White.
