Lithuanian Vitoldas Yagelo released from police after incident on New Year’s Eve
MMA fighter Vitoldas Jagielo, who was released from the bullpen after an incident that took place on New Year’s Eve, admitted that he used violence, but in his defense said that he defended his girlfriend and himself: “My girlfriend was molested, and I was hit twice in the head, then attacked with with a knife, what was I supposed to do, turn around and leave?”
On January 1 at 02:50 a resident of Vilnius reported to the police. The women needed the help of doctors. Yagelo assures that he himself was injured, in addition, he and his girlfriend reported the beatings to the police. Lithuanian MMA fighter accused of beating two women and a man.
Vitoldas Jagielo explained: “My girlfriend Anastasia Victoria lives there, she invited us to the New Year. We arrived at 20-21 o’clock, the party was in full swing. There was a friend of Victoria and another friend of hers, her name was Kotrina – I did not know them. It was a strange party, Victoria was constantly sorting things out with her friend, some kind of love showdown. Kotrina was in no mood, she complained that her boyfriend left her, she constantly insulted me – she didn’t like me for some reason. She said, maybe don’t drink anymore, because you are a boxer, so bad, you will drink, you will become even more stupid. And she kept repeating this. I don’t know why she hit on me.
After midnight, when we had already celebrated the New Year, we danced, and then Victoria came up and said: well, hit me. I asked to be left alone, but she began to threaten me with reprisals, said that her friends would come. I ignored her, she calmed down. Then my friend said she wanted to lie down and went into another room, Victoria’s friend followed her. I was surprised. Then I heard a noise, ran there and saw that he was pestering my girlfriend. I have already seen that before that he pinched her, then patted her soft spot.
I was silent, but when I saw this in the room and heard a scream. Then the man hit me twice in the face. I hit him – 2-3 times. Then Kotrina came running with a knife in her hands. She waved at me. There was no time to think what to do – I took the knife, hit her twice. Victoria came running and began to beat me on the back. We immediately left, taking with us a knife (it had Kotrina’s fingerprints on it). As soon as we got home, the police called. I am very sorry about what happened – they chose the wrong friends.
Yagelo assures that those who pretended to be the victims told the police a lot of lies. He handed the knife to the police and presented his version of events. Yagelo and his girlfriend also wrote a statement to the police. According to him, he regrets that he succumbed to the persuasion and went to visit, but believes that he could not just leave after he was hit twice in the head.
