On the eve it became known that the fight for the title of “interim” WBO world champion in the first middleweight (up to 69.9 kg) between Australian Tim Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) and American Tony Harrison (29-3-1, 21 KOs), which was announced earlier on March 12, will be held in Sydney on Qudos Bank Arena.
On this occasion, the organizers issued a press release with comments from the boxers.
“In boxing, it’s not all about skill,” says Tszyu. No, there is much more than that. It’s an all-round sport. And he might think I’m not good enough, but we’ll see. I’m not here to compete in oratory and argue over whose skill is better. My task is to show it in practice. And it’s pretty simple.”
“It’s not that I belittle Tim, but I think that he is promoted by money and a name. I could name many fighters who deserve a fight with Charlo more than him. Harrison. – And Tim, as for me, has not yet fought with anyone and has not achieved anything, he just has a lot of money behind him. He’s definitely a strong fighter, but when you look at my road, what I had to do, and the obstacles that I had to overcome, he took the elevator and I took the stairs. And I’m like, “How did he get there?” Someone explain to me.”
Earlier, Harrison told why he accepted the fight with Tszyu, and also stated that Tszyu was too simple for him.
