“He has an inflated record.” Porter criticized Munguia’s career

Former world welterweight champion American Sean Porter could not stand it and lashed out at Mexican Jaime Munguia (41-0, 33 KOs) for what, in general, everyone knew even without him – a frankly nondescript level of opposition.

On November 19, the ex-world champion in the light middleweight, now playing in the welterweight category, Munguia was marked by another fierce mismatch, in his native walls, ahead of Argentine Gonzalo Gaston Coria in 3 rounds.

It turned out that this was Jaime’s first left-handed opponent in his entire career. This, in fact, brought Porter off balance.

“You’ve got 41 fights and you’ve never fought a southpaw before? Are you really preparing him for something or what? Or just let him into the ring so that he rivets this 41 wins? That’s why I think he has an inflated record,” Sean concluded, adding that “it’s time to raise the level of opposition already if you really sculpt a star out of him.”

Can not argue with that.

Earlier, Munguia refused the right granted to him by the WBO to fight the champion, Zhanibek Alimkhanuly. Instead, Jaime, he says, will be aiming for fights next year against Jermall Charlo and Gennady Golovkin.
