“He can’t refuse.” Alexander Krasyuk about Usyk-Fury fight

Promoter of the Ukrainian world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) Alexander Krasyuk spoke about the possibility of holding a match between the ward and Briton Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) for the title of absolute division champion.

Recall that Usyk is scheduled for a rematch against Anthony Joshua on August 20, and Fury, after an early victory over Dillian White in April, announced his retirement.

– You mentioned that the absolute championship (for Usyk) is the main goal. What is the likelihood of a fight with Tyson Fury if he returns?

— I’m sure Tyson will come back. He’s not old. He is only 34 years old, he is very young. Although he achieved a lot in professional boxing … He had exactly those belts that Usyk now has. Now he owns the fourth belt – WBC, so he can say that he won the entire set of belts during his career, but he never held all the belts at the same time. And it’s not about winning, it’s not about money, it’s not about fame. It’s a matter of heritage. It’s a matter of history. Tyson is a real person, he is a fighter, he is a warrior, he has a strong character and I am sure that money does not mean much to him. But legacy is what you leave behind. Even when you die, the legacy remains. Therefore, I am sure that, being such a person, he will not be able to refuse (from the duel for the title of absolute champion).

– How big is this fight for the title of absolute champion?

– The biggest. The largest in history. Since the WBO was born in 1990, there has not been a champion who has held all four belts in the heavyweight division. Usyk collected everything in cruiserweight. But collecting all the heavyweight belts will make him stand out, one of the biggest champions in boxing history. This will be impossible to deny. It will not be thought that this is not serious, or that there is something more important for a professional heavyweight fighter than becoming an undisputed champion.

Meanwhile, Eddie Hearn said that Joshua will fight Fury, no matter how the rematch with Usyk turns out.
