Malik Scott, coach of American ex-heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and constant sparring partner of Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), shared his opinion about Usyk’s upcoming fight for the title of absolute division champion against Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KO).
Malik, who knows firsthand about the strengths of the Ukrainian, does not consider Fury a favorite.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Usyk wins the fight, just as I wouldn’t be surprised if Fury, perhaps due to his size, completely dominates after a few rounds,” says Scott. “But one thing can be said for sure about Usyk: he always finds a way to win. He is fearless, a true champion with a high boxing IQ.”
“In my opinion, this is a 50-50 fight. No one will be able to enter the ring with Usyk and do what he wants, no one will be able to fight him under his full dictation,” Malik emphasized.
