– As for your improvement as a fighter, who will Lomachenko meet in the ring? Perhaps he should have taken this fight earlier?
“I told him a long time ago. Fight me now because it will only get worse. Now I am a completely different kind of fighter. I am a much more mature fighter now than I was when I challenged him years and years ago. Although I still think that I would have beaten him. But now I want to show how much I am above his levels at this time in my career.
“We already know that Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis have agreed terms. It looks like April 22 is the date for the fight in Las Vegas. How do you see this fight going?
“I think it’s a good fight. I don’t know. I mean, Ryan has physical attributes: he’s taller, bigger and whatever. But Tank has experience. He’s tested, he’s tested himself a lot more than Ryan. This is a good fight. I mean, the safe choice is the Tank. But I just think it will be a good fight.
– What will be the difference? What sets these guys apart and gives the Tank an edge?
— His experience. He’s verified. He proved it every time. We didn’t actually see Ryan do it. His biggest fight to date is with Luke Campbell and he fell in that fight. But you never really know. You cannot prove who you are until you are given the opportunity. So this is his opportunity.
