Goodman passed the “Cooper test” and announced the fight Charlo vs Tszyu: results

Newcastle Entertainment Centre, Newcastle, Australia. Potentially steep bantamweight prospect Sam Goodman (13-0, 7 KOs) defended the WBO Oriental belt against compatriot Jason Cooper (17-4-1, 7 KOs).

The underdog started the fight aggressively, worked in combination. Goodman slowly crushed his opponent, beautifully worked on that at the ropes – shook him, left a solid mark on his cheekbone.

Cooper tried to drive away the favorite with blows to the body. He brightly intercepted, combined with lightning speed in response, worked very accurately and hard. In the 4th round, he added accented blows to the body, controlled the distance with a jab.

Wow! How well Goodman transfers attacks from the body to the head. The referee is already ready to stop the fight, but he cannot afford it – the underdog endures blows with firmness and honestly tries to return blows for blows. The eye is almost closed, the cheekbone clearly hurts. Cool man!

In the 8th round, Cooper finally got a solid right hook – just in case, the favorite clinched and waited out the underdog’s attack after the block. In the final round, Goodman tried to stop his opponent for the last time – he kneaded the ropes, but he never fell.

Cool fight! Cool avenue!

99-91, 99-91 and 100-90 in favor of the favorite.

Goodman UD ten.

Wow! The winner says that the next fight will be held in January in Las Vegas (USA) as an opening act for Jermell Charlo and Tim Tszyu, who will fight for all belts in 69.9 kg.

In the super-lightweight limit (up to 63.5 kg), the Irish slugger Darragh Foley (21-4-1, 9 KOs) got wet with the Australian gatekeeper
Blake Minto (14-4-2, 3 KOs), who lost ahead of schedule to the Ukrainian Karen Chukhadzhyan in the summer.

The underdog surprised with the plan for the fight – he suggested that the left-handed favorite fight in infighting (more precisely, fight in infighting). Because of this, the fight lost in entertainment (solid fuss and small fouls), but gained in competitiveness (the favorite still could not find his distance and rhythm).

In the 3rd round, the referee, upset by the performance, threatened to disqualify both. Funny episode. The third in the ring turned out to be a specialist of very dubious quality.

On the good side: Foley had nice uppercuts from time to time, and Minto beautifully disturbed the Irishman with right hooks (both to the head and to the body).

In the final round, the favorite was close to an early victory: he shook the opponent with an uppercut, but failed to finish. Competitive fight and very unwatchable. I wonder who will win.

98-92, 96-94 and 97-93 in favor of the favorite.

Foley UD ten.

In the heavyweight limit (up to 90.7 kg) local prospect David Light (19-0, 12 KOs) knocked out
Vikasha Singh (11-4-1, 6 KOs) from India.

In the 2nd round, Light dropped the opponent with a body blow. This confrontation ended.

Light KO 2.

Interesting moment: main event show – title fight IBO at 69.9 kg between Sam Eggington

(32-7, 18 KOs) and Dennis Hogan

(30-4-1, 7 KOs) – was on the verge of collapse due to disputes over gloves. They say everything is already OK – there will be a fight!
