Golovkin sure Canelo will be more serious than with Bivol

WBA and IBF middleweight world champion (up to 72.6 kg) Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) is sure that his opponent Saul Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) in the fight 17 September is under intense pressure as the Mexican cannot afford to lose a second fight in a row.

Recall that in May, Alvarez suffered the second defeat in his career when he flew light heavyweight Dmitry Bivol. Saul’s fiasco was the first since 2013.

The third fight against GGG will take place in super middleweight (up to 76.2 kg), where Canelo is the undisputed champion.

Golovkin expects the opponent to be more focused than ever: “I’m sure he will take this fight more seriously than when he fought Bivol. Against Bivol, he came out not very serious, ”said Golovkin Los Angeles Times.

Golovkin: “Alvarez lives in illusions”

GGG says he didn’t listen to what Saul says about him at press events for the third fight.

“Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention. Didn’t listen to him. With his attitude, he showed that he was on a lower level. Looks like he showed his true colors. Disappointed me because I didn’t grow as a professional athlete,” GGG said.

As for Gennady, he had his last fight in April, defeating Japanese Ryota Murata by TKO in the middleweight division and unifying the WBA and IBF titles.

American “Duncan Macleod” believes that Canelo Alvarez will beat and knock out Golovkin in rounds 6-7. And Gennady believes that Golovkin at 76.2 kg will be more powerful.
