Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) claims that, unlike the Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs), who openly admits his dislike for him and wants to settle personal scores, he does not feel for his opponent no negative.
Recall that Alvarez lashed out at Gennady for the latter’s comments about the doping cheating of the Mexican. They have fought twice already – in 2017 (draw) and 2018 (Canelo win) – and will have a third fight on September 17th.
“We had very good sparring with him, exciting to watch. And normal relations,” said Golovkin. But then he got too high of himself. He’s a big star now, so the repercussions of that were probably a side effect of his pursuit of fame.”
“I don’t feel any hatred for him,” Gennady assured. – For me, he is just an athlete, just a different person. Just a boxer. He probably just decided to behave like this, think about himself like that, love himself and position himself.
And Golovkin is sure that Canelo will be more serious than with Bivol.
