Former light middleweight world champion, top middleweight Jaime Munguia (40-0, 32 KOs) hopes that his next fight will be against veteran IBF/WBA belt holder Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs). And it will be in the spring. Okay, late spring.

Today, the Mexican knocked out the Argentinean Gonzalo Coria (21-6, 8 KOs) in the 3rd round of the passing fight.

“Golovkin, see you in May 23rd,” Munguia said shortly after the victory.

Jaime, who has not spoken for almost half a year, says that he was “happy to enter the ring.”

Munguia named two he would like to fight in 2023

The winner also hopes that once this year his promoters failed to make a fight with WBC champion Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs), “then we can do it next.”

“And we know that Gennady Golovkin does not have a contract with (a rival promoter) and therefore would like to meet him in May,” Munguia clearly indicated the priority.

We are only for. Hopefully GGG too. In October, there was information that Golovkin would box in Kazakhstan – they say this is his last fight.
