On the sidelines, the hints of the WBA World lightweight champion American puncher Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) are confirmed. They say that he will hold his next fight on January 7 in the Federal District of Columbia (USA).

But it is still not clear with whom the knockout will box. Negotiations with popular compatriot Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) are very difficult due to disputes over television broadcasting.

Therefore, they are talking about a rematch with Mexican Isaac Cruz (24-2-1, 17 KOs) and even a duel with compatriot Chris Colbert (16-1, 6 KOs).

And there is also an opinion that American welterweight puncher Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs) will perform at the opening act for Gervonta. He recently announced that he will enter the ring “in 8 weeks.”

Ennis is expected to fight for the vacant IBF interim title. And if so, then it is possible that he will fight with a boxer from Ukraine – Karen Chukhadzhyan (21-1, 11 KOs) or Ivan Golub (21-1, 16 KOs).

They are ranked 4th and 7th respectively in the October IBF rankings, and there is no one to get ahead of them, because:

  • – #3 Virgil Ortiz from USA (unrealistic due to conflict between promoters and TV channels);
  • – #5 Connor Benn from Britain (caught doping);

  • – #6 Keith Thurman of the USA (WBC Mandatory Challenge / will face champ Errol Spence).

Previously, Ennis ran into a star compatriot: Crawford, if you are “your own boss”, then why didn’t you call us? And the legendary Ward believes that it is Ennis who will replace Errol and Terence.
