Unbeaten Dominican Hector Luis Garcia (16-0, 10 KOs) is the best of all with whom the American lightweight (up to 61.2 kg), champion in three categories and current WBA World title holder Gervonte Davis (27- 0.25 KO).
Garcia’s coach, Bob Santos, is convinced of this.
“In terms of technique and experience, Gervonta in his prime has never had such a tough opponent as Garcia. It’s just a fact, says Santos. “You can say that Gamboa was an Olympic winner, but he (at the time of their fight) was long past his career peak.”
“I don’t take anything from Gervonta because I consider him one of the best fighters of our time. And I’m not saying that until now he has been put up exclusively against second-rate fighters, the coach emphasized. – The guy knocked out almost everyone he fought. He has incredible punching power and is one of the best in P4P and also, in my opinion, the best at lightweight. But with all this, if we are talking about skill and experience, Hector will be the best that Gervonta has ever crossed paths with.”
Recall that the Davis-Garcia fight is scheduled for January 7 as the main event of the boxing evening in Washington (USA). Unless, of course, the American is “pressed” by another problem with the law.
