Gervonta Davis commented on the victory over Romero, compared him with Pacquiao

The “regular” WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) did not scoff at the challenger Rolando Romero (14-1, 12 KOs) who lost to him, although, given all the pre-match attacks in his direction, he probably could allow it.

Rolly was in a competitive fight with the total favorite Davis, but in the 6th round he was caught: a knockout.

The winner admitted that Gervonta was “definitely strong”, and when he missed a few punches from him, he “thought to himself: no, no, I can’t sit with this guy.”

“I know when to push and when to pull back. Someone in the crowd yelled for me to start unwinding it, but I knew it was too early. It was necessary to “loosen it up” a little more, Gervonta explained. “The craziest thing is that I didn’t even throw that punch very hard. He just flew into this pitch himself. About like Pacquiao then“.

In general, after the fight, Gervonta behaved nobly. He said that as much as he would like to quip about the talker Romero now, “I want to thank him and his team.”

“We figured it out like men. In the ring. I wish him all the best in the future,” added Gervonta and reacted like this when he was told that Rolly wants a rematch:

Romero wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t say after the fight that he was “chasing that scared asshole bitch and taking all the rounds.”
