40-year-old boxing legend Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) from Kazakhstan, as expected, failed to take the title of absolute super middleweight champion from the antagonist from Mexico, Saul Alvarez (59-2-2, 37 KOs), but is not going to say goodbye to boxing.

Immediately after the fight, Golovkin recalled that he was still the world middleweight champion – in the hands of a veteran of the WBA Super and IBF belts. But despite this, it is not a fact that the Kazakhstani will return to his usual weight. Golovkin’s words: “It all depends on the proposals. But I remember that I have three titles on my hands (still an insignificant IBO belt). So I have certain obligations.”

The obligations of the veteran are well remembered in the WBA – they set a deadline for the legend: fight or drive the title. Golovkin claims that “the passion for boxing still burns in him. Feels healthy, strong, fresh. And in the fight with Canelo, he didn’t miss anything critical. ”

The organizer of the show talks about the veteran’s prospects this way: This is either the end of the road, or an attempt to become an absolute middleweight. But the boxing legend is disappointed with the performance of the Kazakhstani. He says: “He is now lazy and weak.”
