Gegard Mousasi lost to Fabian Edwards at the Bellator tournament in Paris

British fighter Fabian Edwards became the official contender for the Bellator middleweight title by defeating former division champion Gegard Mousasi at Bellator 296 in Paris.

The main event of the organization’s French event, the challenger bout went the full distance and ended in a 49-46 unanimous decision victory for Edwards three times.

After defeating the Dutchman, Fabian Edwards went head-to-head with reigning division champion Johnny Eblin of the United States to headline the Bellator tournament in Dublin on September 23.

Recall that Fabian Edwards is the brother of the current UFC welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, who seconded him in the challenger’s match.
