Garcia on Usyk ‘out of shape’ and Joshua’s rematch tactics

The coach of ex-champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) does not promise that his client in a rematch with IBF, WBO and WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) will certainly fight in an aggressive manner. As Robert Garcia said
Fighthypethey are “going to prepare for it, but it doesn’t have to be that way.”

“Joshua has a great jab with a strong right hand. So if he uses the jab and throws his right hand confidently and quickly, he will hurt his opponent. There were such episodes in the first fight, and I know that Usyk felt it, because he began to move more. We will do everything that is necessary, ”said the British coach.

According to Garcia, if he has to tell Joshua, “Come on, put him on, let’s infight,” then he will do it: “But if I see that he is really good at jab and one-two, then we will continue do it. We’ll watch from round to round.”

We don’t know what Usyk will do – Coach Joshua

Garcia closely monitors Alexander’s physical condition, saying that two months before the fight, he “still looks a little voluminous.”

“I don’t know if he did it on purpose to be stronger and heavier in battle, or he was just out of shape,” said Robert and suggested that it was probably influenced by the fact that Usyk the first months of a full-scale Russian invasion spent in Ukraine at home. – It depends on the circumstances. If he’s going to work to get in shape, he’s got a lot of work to do. But if he’s made himself stronger, we’re going to have a solid fight, dudes, because he’s very talented.”

Joshua is already dreaming with might and main: he says he will beat Usyk in a rematch and receive well-deserved recognition and adoration.
