Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) is unlikely to defeat the giant Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) in the fight for the status of the No. 1 heavyweight boxer, because he, in addition to his size, is also cool in terms of boxing. So says the former rival of the British Otto Wallin.

In 2019, he gave a good fight to Tyson, cut him down, but lost on points. Fury received 47 stitches.

“Fury is big, he has a long range, so Usyk needs to deprive him of this advantage. He needs to press on him, be aggressive and hit him in the body,” Wallin advises the Ukrainian through
sunsport. – Tyson has a large torso, but also good protection above the waist, so Usyk will have to fight off the lower floor for him. When he approaches, he must be careful. He can’t let Fury knit him, hang him in bulk. He did it to me and it took a little energy out of me.”

Otto says that in order for Alexander to be successful in such a fight, “he needs to use angles like he does, jab and also hit a lot of body shots.”

Wallin on Usyk and Joyce’s odds against Fury

And yet, the Scandinavian believes, Usyk will lose.

“I think Usyk is a really good fighter and he proved that against Joshua he is big enough for the division. I thought it would be too small for AJ, but he did a really good job,” Wallin said. “At the same time, Fury is my favorite. He’s a big guy, a really good boxer who can also be aggressive. Fury is a smart fighter, he’s confident and he has the tools to beat Usyk, I think on points.”

Otto himself will return to the ring on Friday against the Mexican
Helamana Olgin (9-4-1, 4 KOs).

Rumor has it that Dillian Whyte and Wallin could fight in April, with the winner getting a fight with Joshua.
