Fury will crush Usyk with dimensions and weight? Wilder’s coach doesn’t think so

The current holders of all heavyweight belts, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) are getting closer to a face-to-face fight – they want to determine the first absolute heavyweight belt in the era of four belts.

Most observers and fans are inclined in favor of the Briton – he is much more powerful and larger than his opponent. But Malik Scott, the coach of former WBC American champion Deontay Wilder, is sure that mass and anthropometry do not guarantee Fury victory.

“There is no favorite here. Chances are 50/50, —
thinks he. — Yes, Usyk is really smaller. But he can make up for it with his footwork. That is, when Fury tries to tie Usyk in the clinch, he will be able to move away from grips on his feet. Don’t write off Usyk. This guy always finds a way to win. But I agree that Tyson has a great advantage in size. The fight will give answers to all questions. We will see…”

Scott is well acquainted with all the top fighters in the division, as he is considered perhaps the best sparring partner in the world – he helped in the preparation of the entire heavyweight elite. He recalls sparring with Usyk: “What surprised him? Yes to everyone! Absolutely everyone! This is the perfect fighter. And also a lefty. With excellent balance and coordination. Can control distance. He’s just great.”

The other day, ex-coach Fury said about the same thing. He warned Tyson about the fight with Usyk. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian helps compatriots who have suffered from the criminal actions of the Russians: on his birthday he gave another 8 million to restore housing – video.
