Fury vs. Joshua – it will be a massacre: functionary forecast

If ex-world champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) thinks of it now, after two consecutive defeats from Usyk, to go out at the end of the year against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs), his last one is simply will destroy. Bob Arum, Fury’s co-promoter, thinks so.

“If he comes back now and goes against Fury, it will be a kill,” said Bob Arum
Boxing Social. “I don’t believe that the Fury-Joshua fight will take place this year because everything I know about boxing (if I were in the place of Joshua’s people) indicates that this will not happen.”

When asked if a 60/40 split of the prize pool in favor of Fury was fair to Joshua, the American functionary agreed: “Yes. Joshua is no longer a champion.”

If there is no fight, what will happen? Arum says that “there are several fighters in Europe that we are negotiating with. Fury is definitely going to fight this year, and definitely in the UK.”

“I was talking to Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas yesterday and he said, ‘Please don’t rush us. We will fight Fury in the first quarter of next year,’” Bob said.

It’s funny that yesterday Klimas called Fury a laughingstock – they say, he “runs away from Usyk.” While Alexander allegedly runs from Tyson, he delivered an ultimatum to Joshua.
