The father-manager of former world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) says that his son is with both hands for the opportunity to fight WBC champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs), but clearly not on December 3rd. The Briton is in tight talks about a fight against Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) on this day, but things are not going very well there, and therefore Fury’s team is looking for other options in parallel.
Earlier, the Briton’s father John Fury mentioned Ruiz as a possible alternate opponent for December 3rd.
Andres Ruiz stated that they are not giving up on fighting Fury, but want the opposing side not to force them into the ring without proper prep time.
“They are [сторона Фьюри] didn’t tell us anything about this fight for December,” said the padre
Izquierdazo. – We did not negotiate with them, but I do not think that our fight in December is possible. Andy will only resume training in November or December.”

Andres’ wish is for his son to meet Fury on the weekend of the Mexican Cinco de Mayo holiday in 2023, that is, May 5-6.
“Of course we would like to fight Tyson,” he said. Andy and Fury are buddies and this fight can happen because they get along so well. If there is an offer for next year, of course, we will accept it. We want!”
All in all, Ruiz Sr. is excited about a hypothetical fight with Fury in May, as Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez is unlikely to fight that day due to a hand injury.
Ruiz is under contract with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, while Fury is a free agent who works with Bob Arum’s Top Rank and Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.
In mid-September, Ruiz panted, showed his fist – and challenged Wilder to a fight. The American puncher responded by saying that he was ready and willing to fight Ruiz after Helenius.
