Fury or Wilder? Usyk was asked who he would like to fight next

The unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usik (20-0, 13 KOs) from Ukraine answered the correspondent’s question
The Ring
about who he would like to fight next. The choice was small: the current or former WBC champions – British Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) and / or American Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs).

“With Wilder! – the owner of the WBA Super, IBF and WBO belts suddenly announced. – First of all, this is a very dangerous fighter. And secondly, this fight would almost certainly take place in America.

Previously, it was assumed that Usyk would meet Fury – the undisputed world champion would be determined. But since the Ukrainian is injured, the Briton decided to make a voluntary defense of the belt against compatriot Anthony Joshua.

Usyk’s opinion: “I would not say that I think about it a lot. To be honest, I don’t care. If Fury wants to fight someone else, that’s up to him. And the task of my team is to give me a fight, to get me back in the ring. I’m sad? No. Not at all. Here the problem is different. It is that Fury does not give fans the opportunity to see the historic fight – one of the most important and best in the history of the division. It’s entirely his fault, not mine. So why should I be upset? Let him fight whoever he wants. But from the point of view of the sports code, he is wrong.”

Usyk is “happy, because he returned home. Virtually nothing has changed. After all, after the victory over Joshua in the rematch, everything remained in the same places. In Ukraine, I am surrounded by people who respect me. I don’t care about the opinions of others. I only care what my compatriots think of me. I love this country, so immediately after the fight I wanted to quickly return home. Here I am sitting in the backyard. Sirens are heard as the war continues. We have learned to survive. Do you know what’s really important? I felt how the whole civilized world treats us. How does he support us?

In the same interview, the Ukrainian’s manager said that Usyk would not fight Fury, but Wilder. And he also called the difference between Alexander and Tyson, while possibly offending Joshua.
