Fury-Joshua fight will not happen – Hearn says

It seems that the fight of the WBC heavyweight title holder Briton Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) against former champion and compatriot Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) this year will definitely not take place.

In any case, according to promoter Joshua Eddie Hearn, it is clear that negotiations between the teams about the December 3 fight ran into a wall of insurmountable misunderstanding.

“As far as we know, there will be no fight. While we are happy to continue negotiations, says Hearn. “In our opinion, he (Fury) will not fight Joshua. We are more than happy to continue discussions, but we were told that the deadline had passed. We sent them the final version of the contract back, they sent it back with edits, after which Fury told us personally that there would be no fight.

“They gave us an ultimatum with conditions and a date that they thought we would not accept. But we all agreed. We were ready to sign a contract,” Eddie assured. – If they had signed the contract on Monday, the fight would have taken place. We were asked to agree on a deal by Monday, then asked to do it before Wednesday. On Wednesday, we received further comments, after which we were told that there would be no fight.”

“We are still open to negotiations, but we will not play a game with a guy who first comes out and says that there will be no fight, and then calls Joshua a bum who does not want to sign a contract. Fight someone else if that’s what you want, and we’ll do it our way and see what happens next,” the promoter added.

Meanwhile, Tyson Fury has begun preparing for his next fight – photo.
