Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs)’s latest taunt from the pool over Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) doesn’t seem to be amused by the Briton, who is a little annoyed by the lack of tangible progress in organizing this fight. The WBC world heavyweight champion says that all he cares about in a megafight against the Ukrainian is the amount of the fee, the date, and where the meeting will take place.
“I don’t pay attention to it,” Fury said.
iFL TV about Alexander’s new video. “It’s not about what Usyk wants or what he does. We are talking about having this fight on such and such a date and in such and such a place. I don’t care what Usyk says, or what he’s going to do, or how he’s going to beat me, or what he’s going to tell me. What really matters is where the fight is and how much money I get.”
And everything else, says the Briton, “I can easily do it,” because “boxing is what I do.”
Usyk-Fury fight ready? Says the manager of the Ukrainian
“Now it’s quite difficult because I keep reading and seeing all these things like ‘everything will be signed next week’, ‘the fight will be announced in a week’ and so on. I’m looking forward to this “next week” all the time. It looks like tomorrow will never come, so we’ll see.”
Here’s “next week” and we’ll see, repeated Fury.
“Hopefully, fingers crossed we do get an announcement next week,” he said.
Yesterday it became known that if Usyk breaks, Fury already has a fallback option.
