As we reported earlier, the fight between the current WBC / WBO super bantamweight champion (up to 55.3 kg) American Steven Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs) and ex-champion in three categories Japanese Naoi Inoue (24-0 , 21 KOs) is close to the official announcement.

The date and place of the battle has already been named – May 23 in Saitama (Japan). Although the information has not yet been confirmed.

But this does not prevent Fulton from considering himself a clear favorite.

“I feel that in this fight I will just show style and class. I feel that I will simply surpass him in the class. And his power does not matter to me, says the American. “Power is important to fans because they look at records. But did he ever have rivals for my importance, my style? Who did he fight? We’ve seen everyone go right at him and try to over-hit him, and then they miss those crazy punches. But you never saw anyone against him who could mix styles like me. I have a style for any opponent.”

“Power doesn’t win fights,” Stephen insists. – I’m smart. How do you think I got here? My skills, my speed, my agility and my mind. And you know what else? They all say that I have no power until they are in the ring with me, after which they do not fight like they used to. All in all, I don’t think there’s a lack of power when it comes to 8oz gloves. Everyone has power in them, and you feel every blow.

Meanwhile, if Inoue defeats Fulton, he is promised a fight with Akhmadaliev.
