Fulton after Roman’s declassification: “I only need Akhmadaliev”

At the weekend in Minneapolis (USA), the current unified champion of the second bantamweight American Stephen Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs) confidently beat the former unified champion of the division compatriot Daniel Roman (29-4-1, 10 KOs).

The winner showed the level of a pound fighter, something he had failed to do the previous time with hefty compatriot champion Brandon Figueroa.
Fulton comments: “I think it was a hell of a cool statement about myself. I told you that everything always depends on how you feel. You wake up early in the morning and you already know how you will look in the ring. I knew it would look like a no-brainer. I controlled the distance, which was not the case in the previous fight. But there was purely my mistake – I didn’t approach the weight cut correctly, which made me look tired. ”

Now Fulton has only one goal left in the division – a fight with the owner of the remaining belts Murodjon Akhmadaliev from Uzbekistan: “Yes, you already know who I want to box with. I need Murojon to finish what I started. But I want to pay tribute to Roman – respect, dude.

It was from Roman that Akhmadaliev took away the WBA Super and IBF titles. The champion from Uzbekistan has a mandatory defense ahead – on June 25 in San Antonio (USA) he will fight with the American Ronnie Rios. Akhmadaliev will approach the fight in the status of a clear favorite.
