Francis Ngannou’s trainer responds to UFC president’s allegations

Francis Ngannou’s trainer, Eric Nixic, commented on the words of UFC President, Dan White, who announced that the Cameroonian heavyweight left the organization because he did not want to take the risk of fighting Jon Jones.

“I see that they are using the narrative that Francis Ngannou was scared, and it becomes funny to me,” the American specialist said in the next edition of the MMA Hour program. “They can say whatever they want, use whatever narrative they want, but I support my boyfriend one hundred percent. Against our advice, he fought the division number one, the phenomenal Cyril Gun, on one goddamn leg, and you mean Francis is scared? He is not afraid of anyone. He does what he thinks is right for himself.”

“After the Gan fight, we met with Dana White and Hunter Campbell and had dinner together. It seemed to me that everything was going well, but when we got into the car, Francis looked at me and said, ‘If I sign this agreement, without a single chance to do everything that I said, then I will betray myself, and I refuse do it. I’m happy, I have more money than I could ever imagine and I’m in a position to make a difference'”

According to Niksik, they realized that the UFC was not going to accept their terms after Cyril Gun issued a public challenge to Jon Jones.

“I saw what Cyril had written, and I said to Francis, ‘He wrote it on purpose, you understand? That’s how these guys work’ and he said, ‘Of course I know that.’ Then I asked, ‘What’s next?’ and he just said, ‘You know, I have something up my sleeve’. That’s all. I chuckled and thought, ‘Great, man.’ So I believe in him. I think they’re already working on something.”

Last weekend, at a press conference in Las Vegas, Dana White officially announced that Francis Ngannou is no longer a fighter of the organization, and Jon Jones and Cyril Gan will play for the UFC heavyweight championship belt, vacated by the Cameroonian, on March 4 at UFC 285.
