Francis Ngannou made an official statement about his future career

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou ended four months of speculation about his future by signing with the PFL.

The Cameroonian heavyweight announced the deal in an interview with The New York Times.

“My PFL deal is more than anyone has ever offered me,” Predator said. “They came to me not just as a promotion looking for a fighter, but as a partner who appreciates you as a person.”

Francis Ngannou will compete in the so-called “superfight” division, in which fighters will make most of the profits from pay-per-view sales. In addition, the Cameroonian is becoming the new head of PFL Africa as the league plans to host its first African event in the near future. The heavyweight also received a position on the PFL advisory board, where he will represent the interests of the fighters.

An agreement with the league gives Francis Ngannou the right to compete in professional boxing. The debut of the “Predator” in the organization is scheduled for 2024, and the Cameroonian is going to hold a boxing match before the end of this year.

36-year-old Francis Ngannou officially vacated the UFC heavyweight title earlier this year, leaving the strongest league in the world as a free agent. As a result, the vacant UFC championship belt was contested in a fight between Jon Jones and Cyril Gun, in which the American fighter won by guillotine choke in the first round.
