Francis Ngannou issued a statement after the defeat

After suffering a crushing defeat in his boxing match against Anthony Joshua, former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, found the strength to apologize to his fans for the disappointing performance and thank them for their support.

“Sorry guys – I let you all down. Today was a bad day at the office, but tomorrow will be a different day. Thank you all for the love!” the “Predator” wrote on social media.

The boxing match, which took place a few hours ago in the Saudi capital Riyadh, ended at the 2:38 mark of the second round with the British boxer winning by knockout. The Cameroonian had been knocked down twice before, failing to react in time to his opponent’s straight right jab.

After the medical team brought Ngannou back to his senses, Joshua addressed the former UFC champion, advising him not to quit boxing, and also announced that he wants to fight the winner of the unification fight between Tyson Fury and Alexander Usik, which will determine the absolute world champion in heavyweight boxing.

Recall that last October “The Predator” made his professional boxing debut, losing by split decision to Fury after ten rounds, with “The Gypsy King” getting knocked down in the third round.
