Former UFC champion Tim Sylvia wins slapping championship

Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia made a successful slapping championship debut with a victory at the Slap Fight Championship held this past weekend in Oklahoma City.

“I found a new sport that I like. I’m going for another title, ”the American wrote on social networks, posting the corresponding video.

47-year-old Tim Sylvia returned to competitive activity ten years after he lost a unanimous decision to Russian Ruslan Magomedov at the Fight Nights tournament in Moscow.

In 2015, the American heavyweight announced his retirement as an MRI scan error prevented him from obtaining a fighting license. Despite health problems, the ex-UFC champion was able to sign a contract with the Slap Fight Championship, where he plans to get to the championship belt.

Tim Sylvia is a two-time UFC heavyweight champion, with a first-round knockout of Rico Rodriguez in 2003 and Andrei Orlovsky in the first round in 2006. In total, the American made three successful title defenses, and his first championship ended in a failed drug test.
