“When I lost two fights in a row, and I’d never lost two fights in a row before, I thought, ‘What the hell is going on?” the 44-year-old American said on another edition of the Weighing In podcast. “It baffled me a lot. The guy lost six times in a row. This sport, like any sport, is based on confidence. That confidence takes you to the next fight, makes you press a little bit harder when you lose on points.”
“When you’re on a losing streak like that, you have to realize the reality. You have to realize it and accept it because you have a responsibility not only for yourself but for your loved ones. I had a lot of conversations with myself because I didn’t want to realize it either. I get a little emotional when I talk about these things because I care about the fates of all the fighters”
