Floyd Mayweather announces next opponent: September fight

The legendary retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., as promised, announced the name of the next opponent with whom he will hold an exhibition fight in Japan under the auspices of the Rizin banner.

Floyd’s choice fell on a Japanese mixed martial artist in the Rizin featherweight division.
Mikuru Asakurawho has 16 wins and 3 losses in professional MMA.

The fight will take place in September, with a date and specific location in Japan to be announced later.

“I achieved everything thanks to a lot of work,” Mayweather recalls. – I always stay focused, always strive to be the best. It’s always great to travel the world, do those exhibition fights and entertain people from all walks of life. I have seen every style. My job is to go out there and have fun and be the best.”

Asakura is determined and is not going to have fun, but to increase his value: “I am an MMA fighter, but I use this opportunity and an opponent to raise my name and value at the international level. I will win this fight.”

Recall that in December 2018, Floyd already performed at Rizin with an exhibition fight. Then he knocked out the local kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa in the first round.
