The current heavyweight champions Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) have not yet agreed on the terms of the head-to-head fight.
And this means that very soon boxing organizations will become more active. The Ukrainian is facing a series of mandatory defenses – Daniel Dubois (WBA), Filip Hrgovic (IBF) and Joe Joyce (WBO) have been waiting for their chance to fight for a full-fledged championship belt for the first time in their careers.
Hrgovic’s promoter Kalle Sauejarland (Wassermann Boxing), does not seem to believe that Usyk vs Fury will take place. However, by
words It’s hard for Sauerland to understand something: “In the interests of boxing, this fight must take place. And I believe that it will take place. And if it does not take place, then Hrgovic should be the first in line. I’ll be surprised if Usyk and Fury agree. But I don’t know exactly how it will end. Obviously, they had disputes about whose market value is higher. I don’t know who the initiator of all this is Usyk, Fury or the promoters. But what’s the difference? We have what we have – for today, X plus Y does not equal Z. Right?
Interestingly, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren is partnering with two other potential Usyk rivals, Dubois and Joyce. He claims that if not Tyson, Alexander will fight with Daniel – he is already training. Do you also assume that Usyk vs Fury’s superboy will fail? And here is the answer of the promoter of the British.
