The WBA finally decided to act. They remembered that they had previously ordered a fight between their middleweight champions – the holder of the super title from Kazakhstan Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) and the WBA World belt from Cuban Erislandy Lara (29-3-3, 17 KOs).
The veteran parties (Golovkin is already 40 and Lara is a year younger), as well as other promoters, are invited to meet on March 13 in Panama (Panama) and take part in the auction.
The minimum bet is 200 thousand USD. The distribution of the prize fund will be in favor of Golovkin – he will get 75% of the winning bet.
It is possible that this fight will not happen. In February, Golovkin gave up his IBF belt. It was rumored that he would end his career altogether. The expert is sure that GGG will soon give up the second belt.
