Fight Davis-Garcia agreed, but will not take place on April 15: details

The duel between popular American lightweights Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) and Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) will take place in April, but a week later than planned.

Today Davis
announced on his social network that all the points of the contract for the fight were successfully agreed upon by both parties. It was decided to hold the fight on April 22 in Las Vegas (USA), and an additional week was supposedly taken for the sake of additional promotion of such a big event. Most likely, the fight will take place in one of three arenas – T-Mobile, MGM Grand or Allegiant Stadium.

It is also known that the fight will be a 12-round fight, but without a title on the line, as it will take place at a catchweight of up to 136 pounds (61.7 kg).

Davis, who owns a minor WBA World title, added another early victory to the piggy bank at the very beginning of 2023, stopping the previously unbeaten Dominican Hector Luis Garcia in the 9th round.

Ryan also planned to “warm up” before the meeting with Gervonta, but ultimately abandoned the idea of performing at the end of January. Thus, he has not entered the ring since July 2022, when he knocked out Javier Fortuna at the equator of the fight.

Tyson, meanwhile, reacted amusingly to rumors that Davis had knocked out the heavyweight.
