Legendary Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko is planning a farewell fight in June or July. French fighter Cheick Kongo is considered as a possible opponent.
“We discussed June-July,” Emelianenko said in an interview with Okko MMA. — So far, I can not say anything about the opponent. Basically, yes, I would like to [провести бой] with Cheick Kongo or… Let’s see how things develop. Let’s see how Valentine fights back. I really hope Valentine [Молдавский] become a champion.”
In his last fight, which took place on October 23 at the Bellator tournament in Moscow, Emelianenko won by knockout against American Timothy Johnson.
