The legendary MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko will support his student in the person of the reigning Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov if he wants to move to the UFC.
“Vadim has his own path, his own career, and, of course, we will support him, because we are all on the same team. If Vadim thinks so, if he wants to, then, of course, you can try yourself in the UFC, ”Emelianenko said in an interview with Okko MMA.
“Here you need to weigh the pros and cons,” continued Emelianenko. — Guy [Вадиму] he needs to develop, he needs to be a champion. How does he see himself: does he want to remain a champion in Bellator or go to the UFC and prove something already there?
The Last Emperor also admitted that he would be interested to see a rematch between Nemkov and Jiri Prochazka, who is currently one of the main contenders for the UFC light heavyweight belt.
“It would be interesting to see a rematch between Jiri Prochazka and Vadim Nemkov. They then entered the duel under the same conditions, but we closed the problems that Vadim had. So I think the fight would have been different. But even that fight was not quite easy for the same Prochazka.
Nemkov and Prochazka met on December 31, 2015 at the Rizin tournament in Japan. Nemkov lost by technical knockout due to the fact that he could not continue the fight after the first ten-minute round.
