Eubank vs. Benn Fight of the Week: Porter’s Surprise Prediction

On October 8 in London (England), Chris Eubank Jr. (32-2, 23 KOs) and Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) – the sons of local legendary world champions Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn – will meet in a full-time fight.

Chris Eubank – Conor Benn: forecast and bets for the fight on October 8

The fight will take place in the contractual weight limit (up to 71.2 kg), as the fighters compete in different divisions: Chris is a middleweight (up to 72.6 kg), and Conor is a welterweight (66.7 kg).

Despite the difference in anthropometry and experience, American ex-world champion Sean Porter confidently bets on the underdog: “Conor is a very bright fighter with real dynamite in his fists. As for me, they are now at different points in their careers. One is on the rise, and the other… No, I’m not saying that Eubank is already on the decline. I will say this, he is stuck at the level he left. From this point of view, it is clear why Conor accepted this fight.

According to Porter, Eubank is taking a risk by agreeing to fight at a contractual weight, but it is possible that this will benefit him: “Fans cannot feel all the things that ex-boxers know for sure. And there are a lot of them in this fight. The first is the so-called moment of greatness. As you know, Eubank Sr. defeated Nigel Benn. And that may motivate Chris to perform in a way he has never performed before. And the need to lose a little more weight may not hurt, but on the contrary, it can allow him to reach a hitherto unseen level of endurance. As for me, in this fight there will be more psychology than physics.

Despite all this, Porter still bets on “a good little fighter against a good big fighter”: “It’s no secret that Conor loves power confrontations. And Eubank may well give him just that. You know, it’s like fighting fire with fire. And if so, then we have a potentially incredibly intriguing fight. From what I’ve seen, Conor is too explosive, too fast, too strong for Chris.”

Eubank believes that all this is nonsense, he cannot lose to Benn, since “it is physically impossible.” Have you seen how he funny trolls the opponent? We have video of Chris eating a hamburger. Agree, it will not be very funny if he fails the weigh-in and disrupts the fight.
