Eubank and Benn resurrect their father’s legendary rivalry: there’s a fight!

29 years after the second fight between British boxing celebrities Nigel Benn (42-5-1, 35 KOs) and Chris Eubank (45-5-2, 23 KOs), their sons, Chris Eubank Jr. (32-2, 23 KOs) and Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KOs). The fight will take place on October 8 at the O2 Arena in London (England) in a contractual weight up to 70.8 kg.

Their fathers first saw each other in the ring in 1990, also as middleweights. For Benn, this was the second defense of the WBO title, and he failed it, losing in a bloody fight by technical knockout in the 9th round of an equal fight.

Subsequently, Nigel moved up to super middleweight, took the WBC belt, and then met with Chris, already the WBO champion in this weight, in unification. The fight in 1993 ended in a draw. Both after him kept titles for a long time and beat tough guys.

The sons of British legends are not even close to their achievements yet.

They haven’t competed in the same weight yet. Eubank works between middleweight (up to 72.6kg) and super middleweight (up to 76.2kg), while Benn has fought only at welterweight (up to 66.7kg) so far.

In 2019, Nigel stated that he “met Jesus, and that’s it: no ecstasy, no women, nothing.” This is how it happens… And last year, Eubank’s favorite clutch from Louis Vuitton was stolen.
