Ennis next fight for the title, there are 3 candidates

Welterweight thunderstorm American top contender Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs) knocked out Canadian Castio Clayton (19-1-1, 12 KOs) and became the mandatory contender for the IBF title.

The owner of this belt, American Errol Spence (28-0, 22 KOs), is not interested in a fight with the prospect – he agrees with star compatriot Terence Crawford to fight for all the division belts.

The Ennis team claimsthat besides Spence they have other top options.

Father/Coach Derrick “Bosie” Ennis: “Talked to (boss Showtime Sports) Stevens Espinosa. He says that if we can’t fight Errol for the title, then most likely we will fight for the vacant belt with Keith Thurman.

Jaron agrees with this plan: “I don’t think Keith will turn on the back. First, it will get him back on TV. Secondly, there will be a title or even titles at stake. Otherwise, of course, he would have refused to fight me.”

Bosie Ennis: “This is not our only option. We can even go to the fight with (WBA World Champion) Eimantas Stanyonis. One of them must take the fight with Jaron. And soon we’ll find out who it is.”

Ennis has previously speculated that “it would be great to beat Keith Thurman.” A little later, ex-champion compatriot Sean Porter angered him. The applicant turned to him: “Get out of retirement and fight me!” In late March, Ennis challenged Crawford. Bradley’s opinion.
