WBO world welterweight champion Terence Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs) is hardly afraid of “interim” IBF champion Jaron Ennis (28-0, 26 KOs), but probably just doesn’t want to take too many risks at the end of his career. So says father coach Derek “Bowsey” Ennis.
Now 35-year-old Crawford is negotiating a fight with mandatory challenger Alexis Rocha, and this is a little annoying for Ennis the father: they call Terence and Errol Spence for a long and tedious fight, and so far to no avail.
Bowsie seems to know what the problem is.
“High risk, low reward,” he said.

For now, Jaron is waiting by the phone for his next opponent. Although nothing has been agreed yet, it could be Royman Villa (26-1, 24 KOs), who recently upset Rashidi Ellis.
At the end of the winter, the WBO named Crawford’s next opponent. A month before, the eminent promoter De La Hoya offered Crawford a contract and named possible opponents.
