Dustin Poirier: “Every time I have a sweet feeling when I see a highlight where I knock out Conor”

UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier shared his memories of the second and third fights with Conor McGregor.

“Every time I see a highlight where I knock out Conor is a sweet feeling,” Poirier said on the UFC YouTube channel. – Most of my fights… I’m not particularly interested in revisiting the highlights from them, because for me it all looks outdated. But this highlight will always be interesting for me to watch.

In the third fight, if I hadn’t broken his leg, I would have broken his spirit. The fight was completely in my direction, I kept everything under control and already saw in his eyes the despair that I saw in Abu Dhabi. He said that submissions didn’t count, but he went to submit me himself. He said that the one who first gets to the feet is a boring bitch, but in the end he himself went first (laughs). Even to take a press conference for the third fight – I enjoyed the moment, I didn’t care that he sometimes didn’t answer me. In the old days, I would look at my watch and fidget: “When will the conference end?” But here I was in the moment».

On the night of December 12, Poirier will face Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title at UFC 269 in Las Vegas.
