Dustin Poirier confirms willingness to fight Justin Gaethje

The second number of the UFC lightweight division, Dustin Poirier, confirmed his readiness to fight against Justin Gaethje, who defeated Rafael Fiziev last weekend and retained the third line in the ranking.

“This fight makes me nervous,” the American said in an interview with FanSided MMA. “When I hear his name, I get nervous and that’s my motivation. These fights are interesting to me. It’s the same with Michael Chandler – when I hear his name, I get nervous. I’m nervous because I know the danger of such fights and that’s what motivates me.”

“If they call me and offer a fight with Justin, maybe it will take place. So let’s see”

Earlier, Poirier said on a social network that he would be interested in a rematch with Gaethje if he had a candidate status.

In April 2018, Dustin Poirier defeated Justin Gaethje ahead of schedule, winning the fight by technical knockout in the fourth round. The Diamond last entered the octagon in November last year, finishing with a rear naked choke in the third round of Michael Chandler.
