UFC on ESPN 22 co-main event
On the night of Saturday to Sunday, April 18, in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) the UFC on ESPN 22 (or UFC Vegas 24) tournament will take place, which will be held without spectators at the UFC Apex mini-arena. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
In the co-main event, we’ll see a lightweight clash between Drakkar Klose and Jeremy Stevens.
Klose will return from a 2nd round knockout loss to Beneil Dariush over a year ago at UFC 248. Prior to that, Klose was on a three win streak with wins over Lando Vannata, Bobby Green and Christos Giagos.
Stevens, who has been in the UFC for 14 years, will make his first bout at lightweight since 2012. He does not know the joy of victory for more than three years, having lost 4 of his last 5 fights, another fight was declared invalid. The veteran has not fought since May 2020, when he was knocked out by Calvin Kattar at UFC 249, unable to fit into the featherweight limit. Jeremy’s previous three offenders were Jose Aldo, Zabit Magomedsharipov and Yair Rodriguez.
Prediction for the fight
Both opponents are basic wrestlers, but at the same time they prefer to work in the stand. Stevens, despite the fact that his career is steadily moving down, in this pair is a slightly more technical striker and definitely a big puncher.
Now Klose is a “broken” fighter, if Stevens hits right, he can interrupt his black streak. Plus, it remains to be seen how mentally Klose recovered from the first knockout of his career. We bet that Stevens will still take his own and return to the winning path.
