Donald Trump made a promise to Colby Covington

Former U.S. President Donald Trump will personally attend the welterweight title fight between Colby Covington and Leon Edwards headlining UFC 296 in Las Vegas on Dec. 16.

The American billionaire made this promise to his compatriot during a private meeting at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

The corresponding video challenger for the UFC championship belt published in the social network.

“I just want to say we’re all going to be watching Colby,” Trump stated. “He has an unbelievable career. It’s going to be a great night and I’m looking forward to it. I’ll be there to support you. I’m sure you’re going to give a fantastic performance. Good luck, Colby! Go out there and win!”

The former US president is known to be a longtime fan of mixed martial arts and a close friend of the UFC chief. Dana White and Donald Trump have been friends for about 20 years, ever since the billionaire gave the UFC a chance and started holding the organization’s tournaments in his casinos in Atlantic City, while none of the other strongmen were willing to get involved with MMA.

As for Colby Covington, if he beats the Brit, he plans to get Russian Islam Makhachev, who holds the UFC lightweight title and is the organization’s best fighter regardless of weight class.
