Don King responds to Dubois’ lawsuit about a “kid” for money

The head of Don King Promotions, in fact, Don King made a poker face in response to accusations by British heavyweight Daniel Dubois (18-1, 17 KOs) that the veteran promoter allegedly did not pay him a fee for the victorious June fight against Trevor Bryan. His quote was given to
Twitter boxing journalist Michael Benson.

“There was no such thing that I once did not pay the fighters, and this case is no different,” said Don King.

Recall that Dubois beat the American boxer Don King Promotions in four rounds. King won the rights to organize this fight for $3.12 million. In other words, the “regular” WBA world champion from England was supposed to receive 45% of this amount.

How much of his $ 1.4 million was “squeezed” by the promoter, and whether it was “squeezed” at all, is unknown. It looks like the court will now decide if King’s words that payments are simply delayed and will be made soon are not confirmed.

The WBA has previously named Dubois’ next opponent, though he wants others. Promoter Frank Warren generally believes that Joshua is the perfect opponent for Dubois.
