Dillian Whyte took on a new coach – this is a famous American specialist

Veteran British heavyweight Dillian Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs) has found himself a new head coach as he tries to bounce back from a devastating WBC world title loss against Tyson Fury in the spring. He showed a picture with a new coach on Instagram.

The 34-year-old boxer will work with the eminent James “Buddy” McGirt.

After parting ways with longtime coach Mark Tibbs in 2020, White moved to Portugal where he runs camps. The role of coaches was performed by Xavier Miller and Harold Knight. Dillian recently announced that he was moving to California for his next camp ahead of a comeback planned for the end of the year.

White confident he can knock out Joe Joyce

McGirt had previously boxed himself and was a two-time world champion, as a coach trained Arturo Gatti, Antonio Tarver, Hasim Rahman, Paulie Malignaggi and others.

“At this point in my career, I need someone who can make small adjustments and has a little more experience in big fights than the rest,” White said.

Now Dillian wants a rematch with Anthony Joshua (who beat White in the 7th round in December 2015), and hopes that he will not agree with Fury on the December 3rd fight.

Hearn told which of the boxers would call if it came to a street fight. White is there too.
