Deiveson Figueredo denies UFC president’s words

Despite the fact that UFC President Dana White, announcing the UFC 290 card the day before, named Deiveson Figueredo as one of the participants in the event, the Brazilian claims that his fight against Manel Cape will not take place.

This was reported by sportswriter Guilherme Cruz with reference to the former UFC champion.

“Despite the announcement from Dan White, Figueredo informed me that his fight with Cape at UFC 290 will not take place. According to Figueredo, the doctors still do not allow him to fight,” the journalist wrote on the social network.

Two weeks ago, Deiveson Figueredo announced that he was pulling out of the roster of the number event, as he was still suffering from an eye injury from his previous fight with Brandon Moreno.

Recall that the UFC 290 tournament will take place on July 8 in Las Vegas, and its main event will be a featherweight unification fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez.
