Boxing legend and head of the Golden Boy promotion company Oscar De La Hoya shared his opinion about a possible megafight between the reigning world welterweight champions (up to 66.7 kg) from the USA – Errol Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) and Terence Crawford (39-0 , 30 KOs).
Oscar regrets that there were problems with the organization of the fight, but he still decided on the favorite.
“I think Crawford can handle him. Stylistically, he is more versatile, he has better technique, he moves more in the ring,” De La Hoya said. “I love Spence, he is a great fighter, but Crawford knows how to turn things around, depending on the circumstances. He has plans A, B, C, D, and D. Spence has A, B, and C, but no plan D.”
“Yes, Spence is a big guy, and this is a fight with equal chances of success, 50 to 50. But I still have to give the advantage to Crawford,” Oscar confirmed his choice. — What I don’t like about all this is when such mega fights are organized for ages, and during this time one of the fighters can lose something. Spence and Crawford are no exception, it can happen to any of them. I’m in favor of holding such fights as soon as possible.
Earlier, coach Porter spoke about who would win the Spence-Crawford fight.
